Maiev Shadowsong is another overrated card. Some YouTubers were saying this was a day one craft, but I don't remember seeing it in play that much.

its kind of funny how those "overrated" priest cards saw play on almost every priest deck of that time and I can personally say that they were actually good priest cards.

How has nobody mentioned Varian Wrynn yet? This was the most hyped card before he came out, and nearly instantly it turned into nothing but crickets.

Embiggen Dragon Druid was a legitimately good deck that ran Kinddleroost. They basically comboed to a Keleseth that discounted your cards/ double buffed them.

Can't wait for underrated cards
Maybe Anetheron will be there
Since it's the opposite of flashy effect and everyone talked how legendary just discounting itself is boring

This must be geared towards standard, because scabbs is absolutely nuts in tons of wild rogue decks.

Scabbs is still insane in wild, it enables the whole storm archetype with pillager and that has been a staple for as long as scabbs has existed, at minium tier 3 in each meta analysis.
Dragon consort was a staple at its time, wtf are you talking about there.
I agree on the rest.

Countess Ashmore anyone? That was supposed to be an auto include in every deck, yet it barely saw play at all.

Disagree with scabbs its definitely a monster in the spectral pillager deck

I won a Masters Qualifier due to a deck I built that had Revenge of the Wild in it. Funny thing is that the deck didn't go anywhere near the meta back then.

Scabbs is exactly as powerful as he was hyped up to be. Just not in standard.

He definitely does not deserve to be on this list.

Cannonmaster Smythe is one that people were hyping up alot and did see a little play before Secret Paladin got nerfed but it quickly got cut.
It's a card that sounds good on paper but requires too much setup to get value from and removing your secrets can also potentially screw you over if you draw into a secret synergy card or if you get rid of a secret that can help you against your opponent.

2:28 while overrated in regular hearthstone this card is absolutely insane in duels and I find it the only way to play warlock in duels

First hunter quest… Lifecoach basically left the scene because he was so certain it was going to break the game

The discard deck was actually pretty good back in the day. Maybe not an s-tier unstoppable deck like quest warlock, day one Demon Hunter, etc...

...but it was surprisingly good if you knew how to pilot it - once all the discard synergy pieces were released into the game over time.

You had a bunch of cards that went into play when discarded or put out a body when discarded; there was recursion to some extent; and once you actually managed to get the portal out... the game was pretty much over against most decks.

I was super skeptical of that deck and wanted to try it for fun way back in 2015 or whatever. The first iteration was awful. But then it got a few extra pieces and was actually pretty consistent.

It was a much much lower power level in those days though.

people quickly learned that knowing what your opponent has in there hand isnt very important when you know every card your opponent is going to play as soon as they match up with you

The problem with scabbs is that by the time you can do something interesting with him your opponent has almost killed you and controls the board.

Funny enough, Scabbs was Overrated, but he's actually seeing far more play in Wild than he saw in Standard, because he enables so many crazy combos. Hell, if I didn't know better, I'd think he was Danehearth's favorite Rogue card.
