I’m so glad you decided to prioritize your health. You only get one set of wrists and shoulders. Daily chronic pain measurably reduces a person’s quality of life. Don’t do it to yourself!

Starting a petition to get John a stamp instead of raw dogging it with a Sharpie for the sake of John's health, safety, and sanity. You can still give a hand made touch with a lot less carpal tunnel and tendonitis. I'd rather have you save your hands for writing the books rather than signing them.

I picked up a copy of The Fault In Our Stars at target after following you on YouTube for a few years. I was 12 and it made me so happy when I got in my mom’s car and opened it to start reading only to see that it was a signed copy. I still smile when I see it on my shelf even though it’s been a long time since I’ve read it because it made me so happy and I was so surprised. Just wanted to share

Author who devalued his signature slightly annoyed that signature will be rarer than intended.

In all seriousness though John, thank you for taking your doctor's advice and taking care of yourself. In the end, it's the words on the page and their meaning that hold the true value! Thanks for all your hard work on this book, and all the other ones! :)

You signed my copy of Paper Towns once at a Target in a midwestern town. It means the world to me, and it's still one of my most favorite YA books that was pivotal in my life. Thank you so much, I'm sure you'll find another profound way to continue that bond between reader and author.

4:36 "a literal page that was touched by both reader and author" When I opened my copy of The Anthropocene Reviewed, the thing that caught my eye wasn't the signature but rather the little crease where John grabbed the page. It's corporeal somehow and I love it -- touched by the author indeed.

I lost my 32 yr old son in September. We had bonded over your books each time a new one came out. For Christmas I gave my tfios to his best friend's daughter. So she had something to remember both of us.

I love John saying the book is not just about Tuberculosis it’s also about tuberculosis.

John: In the future, I'm gonna have to find other ways, both to support my work...
Me: ...and to use that electric jogger.
John: ...and to express that gratitude.
Me: Oh, sure, that too.

When you said you were signing 100k copies on this recent run, my immediate thought was repetitive strain injury. I'm a little younger than you and recently got RSI from video games. Anything that requires that amount of repetition should either be done in small batches over a long period of time or not at all.

This means those signed copies will be worth more now. Perhaps they’ll even break even with the non-signed copies!

"On the other side of boredom is a blissful flow state" summarizes why I enjoy the second hour of editing a video. It's just all flow, all the way.

I remember finding our signed copy of TFIOS at Target. It was the last one. We were so excited. It was a fun day. Thanks for all the signatures John.

The smile in the thumbnail and the slightly clickbait title make me think this is gonna be a real good one.

Thanks for signing this one. I started watching this channel in middle school. This channel’s ethos has helped formed my morals in many ways. I’ve wanted to get a signed book for a while, and I just started having enough disposable income from work (graduated uni and worked a few years now). Good to know I made it just in time.

I would happily accept a rubber stamp replica of your signature or no signature at all if it saves your shoulder! Though, to be fair, I'm more of an ebook girl.
