Good work. I like how the minor struggles are not edited. To me, thats worth gold. Thats where true ingenuity and skill is shown.

Absolutely great work. You should have put in a sill sealer though. Tiny bit of extra work and not only protects the bottom plate but also stops the migration of moisture

This video might have saved the hundred year old house the wife and i just bought. Heavy coal mining area in Iowa, built on a stone foundation that has lost all the mortar if it ever had any. Water all runs right down to the house and rotted the sill plate, rim joist and a good foot or 2 up the wall studs. Other than warped and bouncy floors, the house has held up pretty good being neglected and abandoned

I have to do this under my laundry room from the inside, and replace the joist as well.
going to nail a 2x6 to the wall, and attach legs to that to support the wall.
Hope it works

The screws that were used to fasten the sill to the foundation do not meet code anywhere in the US that I am aware of. A minimum diameter would be 1/2" with a 6 inch imbement in the concrete. This is why you shouls always consult with a qualified design professional before doing this kind of work. It comes down to connections and strength of materials.

You had a temp walk down in the basement. Did you guys lift that section of the house at all ?

Does that rim joist not support any weight?

Would you still do a 2x6 jack wall in a crawlspace?

Great work… but you made my butt cheeks squeeze at the beginning of the video when you were cutting the outer with that zawsaw… looked like you hand could’ve so easily slipped down to the blade.. 😑 scared me a bit. Bro.. your hand may not have been at the wrong place… I’m just saying how it looked to me from our angle. I meant no disrespect just so you know.
