I'm Russian and knew about TL/TLauncher shenanigans way before your video. Nobody worships TLauncher like a gods, the only issue is that their VK group is literally controlled by them and they can remove any opposing opinion. Its like writing a bad review on their own site.
The funny thing is most of latest comments under that post are not related in any way to the post itself, but to the game itself - like, "Why the f**** launcher uses 1.5 GB of RAM", "i got java error in *that random modpack name*, what to do to fix".

The "We are Russians and god with us" is hilarious, because its kind of Russian meme.

As a Russian, i think 8:28 “God is with us!” Phrase is like a meme to me. TLauncher braindead admins were trying to call up to patriotism and etc, but every person with at least 1 braincell would laugh at that. Adequate people even making jokes with that, like “Two alcoholics are trying to catch a taxi and asked driver to get 3 onboard. Driver asked where is 3rd and alcoholics said, that they are Russians and God with us”

Also, it such an irony, to radicalize every non-russian users by calling them nazis or racists. It’s like member of KKK trying to cancel others for slurs

It's really hard to "take them out of business" and "turn their community against them" when you realise that more than half the users are kids whose parents didn't buy them the game and just want to play the game for free regardless of whether or not it puts a virus on their computer

FYI, small detail- pretty sure the official Minecraft launcher bundles java by default, so if you don't have Java, you won't actually be asked to download this. Had an issue with this a long time ago when I tried to install fabric then realizing I straight up never actually installed java

Even if Notch's tweet was "fair game", I think it reffers to the players, not companies that stole the programs from both Mojang and TL Legacy team, added potential dangerous code, gives DMCA takedowns left and right and monetizes their launcher.

I was using TLauncher for 6 years, until 1 week ago. I watched your video, and even though Minecraft Official is expensive in India, I bought it. Thank you so much for the advice, and to letting me know that it had such a shady past, and may still be shady. (I am subbed for 2 years now :D )

They just banned me in their VK group when I started asking them questions about the source code of their launcher. And they deleted all my messages so other people wouldn't see my questions.

I've been using TLauncher for about 8 years, I knew that this is some sort of sketchy things going on around here, but i didn't have enough money to afford licensed copy of Minecraft. Last year my ex-girlfriend gifted me an official copy of Minecraft. I'm suffering the consequences of using TLauncher until now. Here, In Russia, we have some sort of pirate culture and it's very big and developed, because of the prices on games and thoughts like "Why would I buy a computer game, when I can download it for free?".

their launcher is so good that when you get an OpenGL error they tell you to "Downgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 7" as a solution, holy shit what a solution.
