I’m with this fella, I order all my door units, rarely if ever do I use stock units, application requirements typically are not offered on stock units…I find units installed incorrectly way to often, and not pre finishing the doors, jambs etc extend install intervals…it’s a problem in the industry where procedure is not well know…

Are you sure? Because it's stapled in. How do you remove it without cracking the frame. Why not just brace the trim with 2x4 before shimming?

Yeah I like removing the door too makes it easier just to install the frame than reinstall door afterwards

if the wall is out of plumb you definitely will have issues with either the door sealing correctly or the adding jamb extensions with this methodology. I have seen this literally a hundred times as a manufacturer tech where the door was blamed however the door was installed with the wall and this causes huge problems.

Wait a min.. Did you install it with the hinges facing outside?
Cant anyone take out the pins or use a sawsaz to cut the hinges off and remove the door?

That trim doesn't work well with putting a screen door on. Better to take it off

Can’t stand when they send the door with that crappy wood brick moulding. Pvc all the way.
