A Porsche knife that’s heavy in the rear😂😂 I never would have guessed it

They still have them available on their websites. Not as expensive as I thought but its 301 stainless which isn't anything special.

I love mine. Used it every day for 20 years.
Perfect balance, easy to clean, easy to sharpen, holds edge great, indistructable.

People that know how to use knives know exactly why the handle is shaped like that

Greetings from Germany. I'm a professional Chef and one of my colleagues bought this knife. I don't know how expensive it is in the US but here in Germany they run expensive from 100 to 170 euros.

But while it might be a flex for some rich people in their kitchen. We don't use it. The shape of the grip makes your hand hurt after cutting and using it for hours. Nice design though.

That handle actually looks nice. It seems like it was designed to discourage the crappy whole hand grip most amateurs use.

Theyve made them since 2001, my grandad used to supply Porsche parts and he amassed the full set as gifts over time, they definately still make and sell them now

I've gone through lots of kitchen utensils because the handles gave out so seeing something like this 1 solid piece sounds nice.
Might would want to wrap the handle in something to make it a little nicer to use for long periods of time though.

I’ve had one of these for years and they are brilliant knives. The handle suits me as after an accident I have trouble closing my hand fully and I’ve used it for hours on end without any pain whatsoever. You have to sharpen them with a whetstone to get the right edge but because of the blade bevel angle they get better and better with every time.

I don't cook much, but after seeing the design, it hits closer to home than other brand knife handles and accommodates most hand sizes.

I might be weird.... But i actually think the knife is beautiful, i would love to own one. Might hurt your hand if you are working at a cutting station, chopping all day. But other than that it actually look comfortable, but might get annoying holding for hours.

I have a cutlery set with these sorts of handles I didn’t realise it was a thing. They do feel extremely comfortable to hold

The design is perfect, considering that you use that style of Chef knife with your grip choked up closer to the ricosso, or the curved part just beneath the sharp edge that runs into the handle. Those two nubs indicate where to hold it.

You’ll find that kind of flared out handle on medieval daggers.

i had a knife with the same profile but it was from a cheap brand. gotta say, the flat horizontal end helps ease the carpal tunnel pain i feel sometimes while slicing stuff

I have a suntoku version of that Porche knife. When you hold those knobs with your fingers the knife hangs in perfect balance!!!

I like mine regardless of the price. Bought it back in 2003. I guess I was making a lot more back then🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s a solid full tang knife. Not sure what it would be good for. Looks bland for a Porsche knife! Haha but in the right hands it would be a great tool

The nubs are there as a placeholder for scales / grips for the knife. It's magnetic.
