this eel is doing something called buccal pumping, its how they breathe!! eels tend to be stationary so they rely on opening and closing their mouths and using their buccal area to push oxygen thru their gills (little circle behind their head)!! unlike most sharks that use ram ventilation (have to keep moving with their mouths open to get oxygen through their gills) :3
