My Starlink is about 3 months old. I live between two mountains. My dish is on my roof eve. We had a small amount of obstruction around the outer perimeter edges constantly that will always be there due to those two mountain tops. We get anywhere from 34 to 80 download and 7 to 15 upload. We are elated because we’ve never had anything better where we live. So we are grateful, so grateful!! 👍🇺🇸

As a HughesNet survivor I am very happy with Starlink on slow days especially on rainy days.
I put my Starlink router in bypass mode and used a WiFi 6e router and my speeds went up dramatically, doubled using speed test app.
Living happy with Starlink in NW Florida.

My outages look similar to yours. I’m near Seattle, no obstructions at all. For the last few months early in the day I see 10-50 Mbps down, maybe 5 Mbps up. In the evening it is almost unusable. 0.5 to 5 Mbps down, up around 2-5 Mbps. This has been really consistent.

Something JUST CHANGED 😮Starlink updated, I’m seeing 130 down, 7 up and 20ms latency. I hope this stays this fast haha

ive given up on starlink for now and have gone back to my old isp provider
their stability and performance has gotten so bad plus the upcoming datacaps makes it not worth the price
i am fortunate in having another option that is fortunately better then starlink as it is now but not as good as starlink was before apr/may of this year.
i plan to keep my starlink equipment in the hopes that starlink gets its act together and gets things back where they were, drop the caps and lower the cost some.
i plan to continue watching your helpful starlink vids in the hopes things get better.
thanks for the vids and keep them coming

Great stuff as always. After your original video, I wrote to Starlink requesting a closer pop and received a denial reply stating that they optimize traffic. Now in the FAQs they say that they will not change if requested

I was 410mb-up when I signed up with speeds up to 780mb-up on the 24th of Dec last year then it went to 250mb-up in June. Now its up around 380mb-up since Sept and consistent so far.. My POP is in Seattle but my connection actually goes through a POP in Alaska. I am Very Happy with the service!!

I'm getting anywhere between 70Mbps during the day to >200Mbps late at night/early morning. Been with Starlink for a year and a half now and I'm happy. Huge step up from what I had with Viasat.

I live in Southwest Missouri where you cannot get more than 4 megabits per second internet from any company down here and so I got put on the list for residential 2 years ago and still it's not available but I just got the best effort plan so that I could at least have something and it's been great and the only time I even notice any slowdown is on the weekends in the early evening to about 10:00 p.m. and at those times it's about 11 to 15 megabits per second download and other than that it's been awesome at anywhere between 40 and 180 megabits per second which is insane for me!! I love it! I would be cool just to keep it how it is and it's not even residential yet.

My download speed ranges from 20 to 150, with about 10 up. Considering my prior service was 3 down / 1 up, I'm thrilled!

I've only had it for a few months but it ranges from 60-120Mbps most of the time in rural Texas with the RV version. That's way better than the 15Mbps cap I had from Centurylink which was my only option for "high-speed" internet. It's the first time I've been able to have actual broadband here.

I just tested mine, numerous times and I am getting about 87 down and 11 up. I am getting that little blue banner on the bottom talking about peak hours. Come on I am below 1TB this month, I am residential, it still works well, but my streaming has been degraded lately somewhat on 4K. But in reality, for me a rural customer with no other choice besides LTE or DSL, so I can't complain. much. I am in New England, but I am probably sharing bandwidth from Montreal suburbs.

I live in East Texas and have had my Starlink since September. Coming from a broadband service where I was only getting 4 mbps down and probably 1 mbps up, I was excited about getting my Starlink. My speeds are great in the mornings about 120 mbps down and 8 Mbps up, but in the evening times I’m getting anywhere between 5-16 Mbps down. That’s a big drop off. I understand the evening times are more congested, but I don’t feel like my speeds should have that big of a dip. I have a clear view of the northern sky with no obstacles.

My speeds are pretty much what you are getting! Great for me in comparison to what I have available in the country in SW Kansas! 20 down and 5 up from them

Joe, I have been running Starlink since this past March. This is the best thing to happen for rural internet, in South Mississippi, since dial-up. I have 3 smart TVs in my home, a laptop, and a desktop. Over all the years I've tried to tether off my cell service, which really sucks, and finally Hughes Net which also had issues and was expensive. But back to the subject. My speeds have increased over the last 2 months. I was averaging around 70 to 80 down and about 6 or 7 up. Now I average 110 to 115 down and about 10 up. After all the years I had to deal with crap internet service. This is a fantastic product. I am not a real big techy. I am a 75 year old man who wants to be able to watch streaming TV on the smart sets that I paid major money for, be able to communicate with email, and watch and learn a little bit off of YouTube videos. After all that is how I found you. Thanks for all your work on keeping us informed on starlink.

Another great video. I live high in the Mts and admittedly have some obstructions from some 150ft pines on our property. However, we are still getting incredible internet service. You must understand, we went from upload speeds of below 1 mbps to right around 8-15 and upload from 20 mbps to 75+. Our latency used to be in the 70’s, now it’s usually mid 30’s. So it’s all relative. If you are a mega gamer and are used to DSL speeds in a urban area then I can understand some disappointment. For folks like us, Starlink is a Godsend! It would have to get A LOT LOT worse for us to complain. We love it. I was wondering if you could post exactly what address, physical or digital, that someone should use to write to Starlink about the “Pop” issue. Ours is currently over 700 mi away. Thanks again and Merry Christmas.
