I took my Ford Ka 09 plate to Halfords. They said they wasn’t able to fit me a new stereo. When they tried to fit it via adapters it wouldn’t work so he went through the fuse box. That powered up the radio but then nothing on my dashboard was working. Warning lights came on and said I had no fuel and wouldn’t tell me what speed I was going or anything. Do you know why this was happening and how to get around it as I had to leave with the same radio in the end after 2 hours of being there. Thank you!

what did the white plug go to when fitting the after market stereo ? . just fitted one on my girlfriends ka and just left the plug hanging as i couldnt figure out anywhere for it to go.

Does the old plastic panel work/fit for a new radio or do I have to buy a new one? It would be nice to know before I purchase a new radio

Where does the white plug go? Halfords say I need a £65 cable to plug that in too

There is a problem with these cars, I have asked Halfords, they said they another cable from the fuse box needs to be mounted into the back of the off the market stereos. What is the model of your Sony? Also, did you had to run another cable from the fuse box? I did try to use a pioneer stereo, no luck, even reversed the 2 colour cables. No power to the unit...

Hi this video was very helpful to install the stereo for my mrs. Just a quick question I bought a stereo fitting kit which came with Single Din Fascia Adaptor (Black)
Steering Wheel Control Adaptor
Aerial Adaptor
Stereo Patch Lead (Free CTMULTILEAD.2 Included).
Once I connect everything it works fine but the controls on the left side of the steering wheel such as, the volume, etc don’t work however they worked with the stock stereo. Can you help with this please.

The ISO connector - grey fits into any stereo? What about the white one? I assume that is the steering wheel control? How do you adapt that to aftersales stereos?

When I disconnect the old radio, I have 3 plugs which is the same as you, but my new radio only has two. All of the adapters I found are just 2 plugs to 2. Is the top one not needed? Thank you for your help

Can one not just use the tool, to pull out the radio, without the fascia attached, & save having to remove the air vent?

got a question, how difficult was it to wire in the replacement head unit ? literally just clip and done or did you have to do any fiddling about ? If i’m buying a new head unit is there anything specific i should look for to ensure it’ll fit easily ? Cheers
