Fertility rates are declining worldwide.

Countries such as China and the UK have recently reported their lowest birth rates on record, raising concerns about a looming "population collapse," as termed by experts. But what does this mean for the world, particularly for the global economy? And what measures can be taken to future-proof societies against these challenges?

In this edition of The Agenda, Juliet Mann is joined by Jennifer Sciubba, President and CEO of the Population Reference Bureau, Jesús Fernández-Villaverde, Professor of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania, and Paul Cheung, Professor in Practice at Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, to discuss these pressing issues.

Well i am more than happy with my one daughter, my only concern is my possible inability to make her happy.

I dont exactly know what would have happened if there was a second child but i think I would have become worried about having to divide attention between the two in that case.

However i admit there is a risk of my daughter growing up selfish minded under the circumstances.

Whatever maybe the case I think people who can afford the bandwidth to share sufficient love and attention between there children can go ahead and think on those lines
