Just to let you know, The French Were the 4th French Colonial Republic. It wasn't an Empire as it wasn't a monarchy. It would very much depend on when this is in 1960 as basically all of France’s African Colonies except for Algeria gained independence in 1960. The UK also had lost Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Kenya. If you are going to include the commonwealth Realms, South Africa still doesn't count and that means you would've missed Papua New Guinea which was part of Australia.
