Fun fact, Argentina and Western Australia are around the same size, but Argentina has 16 persons per km² and WA has less than one

In Brazil, beyond Amazon, the second biggest biome is the "cerrado" which is a savana.

Little observation from a Brazilian here: the forest shown when Amazon is mentioned -- nit Amazon! That picture is from another forest, not a tropical one, in the Southern region of the country, totally opposite to the Amazon. It is in the Rio Grande do Sul state. Cheers!

Is it true that Brazil’s reputation for having beaches precedes its reputation for having the world’s largest rainforest? I always assumed it was the opposite.

The image he used to portrait the Amazon in Brazil, os actualy a picture of the Caracol waterfall in Canela, an turist city in the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul, the furthest state from the Amazon. In the winter it even snows there.
