QUICK & DIRTY INK BLEED EFFECT (PHOTOSHOP TUTORIAL)

In this video I show you a quick method I came up with to attain an uneven and subtle ink bleed effect in Photoshop. By taking advantage of layer masks and blur, ink bleed can become the cherry on top of your design. This effect is super versatile and can be done in a very timely manner.

Please refer to my previous video on ink bleed for more insight into the effect and how to make it stand out using filters such as Crystallize and Displacement, and adding textures on top.

Ps is crazy because every designer can reach the same finish line in 5 different ways but these methods go crazy man. Much love for being able to consolidate long processes into the 3 or 4 step clicks lmao onto something good !

Extra tip: if you convert your art layers to smart objects you can use smart filters and fine tune the gaussian blur throughout the entire ink bleed creation process. Nothing crazy, just gives you a little more control even after you’ve applied/edited your clouds layer mask ;)

remember kids: for the textures, its always important to use the highlights texture (the black one w lighten mode) on top of the shadows texture (the white one w darken mode)
