I roll some items to stick between the bars in my roller bag, then use packing cubes on top. Seems to use every bit of space! My packing has gotten better since watching your videos!

I’m a fold-&-compression cube packer, with some of the items Kon Mari’d (yes, it’s a verb now 😂). I cannot thank you enough for suggesting merino & cashmere for cold-weather travel—the space they save is wonderful! The sides & corners are stuffed with shoes & pouches. As always, thanks for all of your tips Laurie!

I used to use rolling clothes as my main method. But our daughter got us the Spacepak brand of packing cubes. Folding the clothes works better in that type cube. I love them because it’s a double sided cube with clean on one side and dirty on the other. I put dryer sheets in both sides, and just move the dirty clothes to the dirty/laundry side throughout the trip. Keeps things organized. We have two sizes of compression cubes, a couple Zip bags and the hanging toiletry bag.

I'm a fold/compression cube packer - I think it keeps my items in better shape (less wrinkling). Definitely agree that wool/cashmere are great for cold weather trips. Great tips, as always!

Both…depending on where we are going. Always Ranger roll undies and socks and cram them into a packing cube. Fold shirts into compression cube. Fold pants, nice shirts into pack it folder. I have to be organized. No matter where we go it’s always a carry-on / personal item backpack. Thank you for taking the time with all the tips!

I'm suppose to be traveling to Connecticut this winter for a few days. Most of the trip will not be pleasure. The trip is for medical testing for a research program. I find combining both methods to pack is the most effective.

I mostly fold and use compression cubes. I have rolled when I really need a lot of days (two weeks or more.). Merry Christmas Laurie.

I primarily use the rolling method (love the Ranger roll) for tops, knit fabric dresses, shorts, etc., and compression cubes. I super tight roll using the hotdog fold, fold in the sleeves, place the neck of the top closest to me and place my heels on the bottom edge then pull and roll tightly (22 yrs in the Army taught me well.) Jeans and slacks are folded and compression cubed. Underwear and socks are stuffed into shoes and the void where the handle depressions are located. 14 nights on a cruise with only a carry-on and personal bag. It can be done with good planning! (wife of a DFW pilot).

I roll most clothes and then place the tightly into compression packing cubes. It may take me a few more minutes, but I able to pack more effectively this way.

For winter I use the ranger roll method. Then put them in a packing cube. This method takes longer, but it works for me. My husband made a rolling board for me. It has clips on the top to help keep tension as I’m rolling. They are a lot more uniform and go into the packing cubes better. The skinny oblong cubes are great for socks, underwear, bras and sleep shirts. Before I found your videos and started using pouches, I would put all non-liquid bathroom essentials in the oblong cube.

I fill up the irregularities, in the bottom, then layer folded clothes, and finally fill the corners. works well for me.
