I was in an attic tearing out an hvac unit. And my helper said power was off. I believed him. And the way power was ran. It would have been easier to just cut the romex all together. I cut the wires. Loud pop. Sparks flying everywhere. Strippers melted. And somehow. Breaker never tripped. And wires were still live

Super educational. Also, pro tip: a non-metal grinder blade won't blow up. I accidentally cut a cable to a 240V mini split once and pooped my pants, but neither the breaker nor fuse in the mini split blew

This happens to me when I accidentally cut off the live and neutral together it explodes good thing i got my gloves on. Thanks to this video I wont be afraid to cut again coz im thinking of ever I will cut the live itself it will explode as it happens to me earlier. Now i will be confident to cut any of the wire with no problems. Thanks Mate 👍

I've always cut wires one by one, mostly out of habit from not wanting to waste time finding the unlabeled breaker switches when there is like 60 of them

Wouldn't it be cool if they made a wire cutter where the actual cutter is not conductive so that you can cut live wires without issues.

I have a question, here the 3 wires are already cut. What if all 3 are still in a circuit like say series. And you want to cut the hot wire and you don't have an insulated cutter. You can't right.

I was installing an AC disconnect today and I blew up my knipex linemans. I turned off the breaker but whoever terminated the load center mislabeled the 2P breakers. There wasn’t a quick way to test the voltage on the wire since it was just a 3’ stub of 8ga SEU sticking out of the wall. I learned today that I’m just going to turn off all the 2 pole breakers because you can’t trust anyone.

thanks this re assured me i dont need to turn the breaker off if you only snip one wire at a time, which will help me change this light out easier.
for some reason this house 2 breaker panels, one in the attic and the other under the house in a crawl space and its a hassle
