one of my best wedding tips for a new bride planning her wedding in 2022 or wedding in 2023 is to not have bridesmaids! Might be an unpopular opinion but heres why.

Agreed - I got married 21 years ago and after 8 years I was no longer friends with my maid of honour. Everyone else were siblings and childhood friends (that are still in our lives and are godparents to our children)

So true only one bridesmaid helped me get ready. My hair was done in 10 minutes everyone was late. Nobody took pictures of us we explained that we were not hiring a photographer. We paid for the food ourselves and venue. I got a few pictures.
The bridesmaid did there makeup before they did mine.

My mom’s bridesmaids were her sisters and her daughter (me)

I think it just depends who you are and how your friends are. I can see if you are a group and all get along well, plus you have more people to help you out and plan, etc. Though some people dont want it as crowded, dont want to pay extra for the dresses so it really just depends on how you want it

Ahhhh, you guys need new friends. I had three bridesmaids. Two were friends from highschool and the other was an old roommate. They were amazing and so much fun. I still see 2 of them regularly and the other we get together 2 - 3 times a year. So maybe it’s just have better friends not don’t have bridesmaids… 🤷‍♀️

I think it is normal in Norway to have the children in the familiy to be bridesmaids and bridesboys (at least my aunts did that)

Reason why I’d have family instead of friends. Incredibly hard to lose contact with and the ones who have to stick it out the longest for each other! 😂

If you don't have friends that have been with you for 10years+, that you love more than your actual family then don't ask them to be your bridesmaids. It's fine having one or none❤

I think the younger you are as a bride the more careful you should be choosing whether or not to have bridesmaids.

I'm 34 and getting married in November and am blessed to have 5 bridesmaids, all of who have been friends a minimum of 15 years. I would say don't have bridesmaids for the sake of having bridesmaids ❤

I agree, 1 BM is dead, 1 ghosted me but friended my husband on FB years later but never asked about me! and the third is an estranged family member on my husbands side...booya!
I would only have one attendant if I did it again

My moms bridesmaids ARE gonna be in her life bc 1 the first one was my godmother 2 the 2nd one is my aunt and the 3rd one is also my aunt😂
