My first cruise was on Carnival. And it was what got us hooked on cruises. The food was amazing and it was a lot more "included in price" friendly. Royal Caribbean's ship was a lot nicer, a lot more stuff to do, but ultimately it seemed like you needed to pay a lot more to enjoy anything. And the food wasn't quite as good in our opinion. But the specialty restaurants were amazing. So ultimately, if cost isn't a problem, Royal Caribbean is where it's at. If you want a great experience on a fair price tag, Carnival is the best. Just booked a new cruise in Oct on Carnival.

Thank you for your channel. Several years ago, I was an entertainer and a member of cruise staff on Royal Caribbean's Sun Viking. Our itinerary was two weeks in the Caribbean. We often docked in ports along with Carnival ships. It was not difficult to tell which passengers was on which ship. RC cruisers we're typically a little older and wanted a a more lux experience. Carnival catered to a younger, party passenger. You are right about Carnivals "Spring Break" demographic. You give a fair and accurate comparison of the two lines. Thank you.

Thanks for giving an objective overview without talking down any cruise line and explaining the benefits of both. Subscribed!

I have been on both 20+ times and prefer royal but I think you should definitely try both in your lifetime. I have been so many times so to me new shows are well worth going on carnival even if I like royal more

Carnival Also has Cunard, Holland america, costa \.

I compared the two for the same itinerary. RC was $400 more for the same cabin. Also, the smaller ships of Carnival don't require any reservations for the comedy club or the theater.

I wish Royal Caribbean had thermal suites with the Thalassotherapy pool like Carnival and NCL.

i’ve been on both many times, but i personally prefer royal caribbean. i have a fancy taste and rc has that luxury.

it was also the most recent one i went on over a year ago and i had the BEST time because i made and friend at the teen club and hung around her the whole time by exploring the ship

carnival was where i went when i was younger, so i don’t remember it as much as i do rc, but i remember mostly playing bingo and all. honestly, it wasn’t as fun in my opinion, maybe it was because i was stuck with my family the whole time. HOWEVER, i did like their waterpark because i was a child

i’m not saying rc is only for adults, though. they do have kids areas and such. i think their aquatots place was actually really cool. i went to go pick up my little cousin and i was surprised by how big it was. she also seemed to enjoy it a lot, so i think that’s a win (she’s kinda picky)
plus, with the (overpriced) icon ship coming out, there’ll be more family things

if you’re looking for big crowd pleaser and bigger shows, rc is the cruise i would choose. i was stunned by their shows, despite me not liking going to shows

i do agree rc is more expensive, but in my opinion, it’s worth it because i just love the luxury of rc

i also love rc’s food. there’s just such a huge variety

rc is more diverse, so there’s more specialty restaurants. it’s also helpful if you don’t speak english because there’s guarantee going to be someone working who speaks the same language as you

but honestly, i think it just depends on who you go with and what you’re looking for. if you’re looking for a more casual vacation, plenty of friends, or with children, carnival is probably the best fit for you. however, if you want to indulge in that luxury life, dazzling shows, trying new diverse foods, and more formal moment, rc is the place for you

To date, my only cruise was onboard Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas. Lovely ship. I had no idea CocoCay was privately owned by them! So learning that was very cool. Can confirm it was a great place, and back to the companies themselves, I can also confirm RC is more on the wow factor. I can't quite say the same for Carnival based on what I've seen of them, but considering they're on the cheap, more fun and casual side of things, I can't fault them for it. Both lines have their own perks, and I would enjoy a cruise on either one. :D

I went to the Carnival Vista in 2017 and it was a total nightmare! Rude staff, a giant line outside the dining room during the first night, a balcony room that was more like a closet than a stateroom, said room being located at the now of the ship so we felt every wave, and me and my mom getting stomach flu. We’ve never gone on any Carnival ship since and Royal Caribbean is definitely better!!

Not to mention the countless disaster truck cruise ships. I’m looking at you carnival, royal Caribbean, I see you you got a few minor crashes and run ins with storms, not as bad as carnival though.

My brother was music director on the Carnival Ecstasy back in 2000 and he said the boat was absolutely filthy. My brother today lives at home with our elderly parents, so take what he said with a grain of salt~

I really like Royal Caribbean as it is my third favorite cruise line, however Carnival is my favorite cruise line because of the fun and friendly vibe, the more vast and tasty free food options, the equally superb specialty dining options, the special attention provided by the staff where even though they see somewhere between 3000 and 5000 guests per week, they still somehow are able the remember your name; last but not least, all of the things mentioned typically comes at the best price, with only MSC which is my fourth favorite cruise line coming close in the price category. Finally, when I’m in the mood for a more upscale cruise experience, I choose my second favorite cruise line which is Princess which is also part of the Carnival Corporation.

I cruised on the Carnival Horizon for the very first time in my life and everything was clean, there so much to do that I didn’t got to do half of it . Beautiful places we visit definitely recommend it.
