If I remember right, the SPF scale is linear when it comes to how much time it would take for the UV rays equally effect you as if you didn't have any sunscreen.

That is with perfect application and reapplication. Having higher spf can help make up where people lack, not adding enough, or applying often enough. In testing, in perfect conditions, the difference is small. But in practice it can give you that extra protection with typical use.

The animators are only using one hand to animate 💀💀

By the way, you have to properly and consitently apply sunscreen to get the actual SPF advertised on the bottle. The average person does NOT apply enough every 2 hours of sun exposure. Higher SPF helps bridge the gap for improper application. Typically a shot glass amount of sunscreen on exposed part of the body os what's needed. Most chemical sunscreens offer UVA/UVB protection, because a lot of countries require them to be. Sunscreen does degrade over time due to friction, sweat, water, clothing, etc.

Dermatologists agree that SPF 30 is the absolute minimum you should get, and it's not actually that good. Also, yes, SPF 30 IS twice as good as SPF 15. While SPF 15 lets 6% of the sunrays hit your skin, SPF 30 lets only 3% do that, and SPF 100 leaves only 1% of the rays. This video is just straight up misinformation, probably in good faith, but please delete this.

Nope, spf 50 is the last proper useful one to everyday people, not 30. Furthermore, the higher SPF sunscreens are made for people with conditions or who cannot be exposed to much direct sunlight, or simply don’t want to even become slightly browner.

You say that but I had some spf 150 on a beach trip a few years back and even after 6 hours in the sun my pasty ass wasn’t even warm lol

This is why you buy sunscreen that says Broad Spectrum on it; those ones protect against both UVA and UVB rays.
