Everytime I see a non-italian randomly using that gesture while trying to speak italian I die a little

flash news: we don't like it when you "talk like that" (*adds some random hand gesture)

I'm not even Italian and it really gets on my nerves when people try to fake their accent, like wtf.

"un bicchiere d'acqua porca madonna!" everybody would understand this in Italy

The problem is in USA they think all italians speak with the same accent, that it's basically the accent that is famous in USA because of movies. Many italians that went to USA at the beginning of 1900 and after the WW2, were from South of Italy and their accent is completely different from Center or North of Italy, not only when they speak english, but also when they speak italian. So clearly Hillary is not very aware of how italians speak, and maybe Conan is backing her because it's supposingly funny.

This interview is the festival of Italian stereotypes

You know I always try to say something positive. Therefore I have nothing to say about this video.

This stereotypical way of speaking Italian in a sing-song voice is actually mostly false. It is somewhat true of Neopolitan Italian dialect, but largely untrue of most Italian. Compared to American English, there is a little more sing-song quality to mainstream Italian, but really it is minor and nowhere near what these TV shows make you believe.

Quattro mesi per parlare così...
Un genio.
Quattro mesi in italia e ancora crede a tutti questi luoghi comuni.
Veramente bravissima.
Lei e il roscio, bravi entrambe.

You know that the first time you'll cross an italian they Will chop your hands off if you continue to do that thing that you did at the end? You do, right? STOP IT!

that accent you do trying to sound italian DOESN'T EXIST in italy, it's offensive and it's starting to get boring. Plus, you said "un bicchere d'acqua" correctly, so an italian would have easily understood it. That gesture you do at the end, so famous around the world, yes, we do it often, but not like that, it's more composed and appropriate, depending on what we're talking about, it's not something we do for no reason as you do, mocking our cultural language. Pulling sterotypes it's close to being racist in my opinion. Bad taste interview, very disrespectful and full of arrogance.

Italian is one of the hardest languages to learn, I’d just like for you Americans to stop talking with that super Mario accent, we don’t speak like that.
