Painting contractor here. It's unfortunate the plaintiffs couldnt get their story straight. While it's true that you can paint vinyl, you're very limitted to what colours you can use. Dark paint colours applied over light vinyl will hold heat and warp the siding, which is exactly what happened. The contractor was negligent and ruined their siding.

2:23 I was a building contractor, Vinyl should not be painted period. It voids the warranty for one thing. Vinyl expands and contracts constantly throughout the year, which causes the paint to crack and chip, once you paint it you have to repaint, and unless you remove all the paint it is just going to build up, cause the vinyl to absorb too much heat. And guess what happens? It friggin warps and buckles. So there is three parties at fault, first painter, plaintiff and defendant are at fault. The first painter should have told them about all the pitfalls, they should not have painted it, and the defendant should have turned the job down. And yes once it starts to warp, rain and snow can get behind it, and make it worse.

When you wear the American flag in JJ's courtroom, that just tells me that you're not a regular watcher of JJ. It would mean nothing to her as far as her making a decision. You can be the biggest patriot in the world, but if you've got a bad case, JJ is going to rule against you no matter what.

I know what happened from a mile away. Can’t paint vinyl darker colors or any color that aren’t vinyl safe. The contractor should know better if he’s a painter. Hubby and I made that mistake and it cost us 8k to get house stripped and just put up stucco.
