Principal refuses student’s diploma for dancing across stage | AJ #shorts

A recent US high school graduate, Hafsah Abdur-Rahman, says she was left humiliated when her principal refused to hand over her diploma after she did a celebratory dance across stage. The school district in Philadelphia has apologised and says it is investigating the incident.

What an abuse of power. This young woman was obviously exuberant about graduating. She didn't deserve to have her diploma dropped into a basket on the floor of that graduation ceremony. This Principal Should Be Called Out BIG TIME.

It’s interesting how many get to dictate how someone celebrates their work their achievements. We pay tuition, work hard, graduate and yet still you are controlled and directed. Times are changing, loosen the grip

Wow not a school in the U.S. where ppl don't dance arcoss the stage for graduation, there's no rule for that for the people saying they understand, her dancing does not compromise the values of the school or principal. It's 2023 in America cut it out, if anyone looked bad it's the principal for discriminating she sure to get reprimanded by board of education

she was denied her diploma certificate for a small dance… in a country that prides its self on freedom of expression, freedom of speech, that principle needs to be fired. That principle would make a good principle in Afganistan under Taliban.
