I worked a full time job & went to university at night. I was ridiculed at work as I spent 5 nights a week studying whilst most went out drinking on Friday & Weekends. Come 25 & I had my degree & MBA so I was debt free & had 2 years pay when I left after being culled.

I found another job soon after at triple my old salary & rose to the top of the Pyramid. Self Sacrifice is key to getting ahead in life.

Poor, like rich, is relative. And, as the old saying goes, "rich is better" but there's no guarantee it will last. Because it is relative to what is happening in the world. You can do all the right things, practice all the principles, etc. and still lose it all to the vagaries of life. My assumption is that a significant number of people living in tents are still scratching their heads and blaming themselves. The world turns and sometimes you fall off. Takes a long time to get back up. I did. But I had to accept the reality of change and I had to adapt to it. Your mindset is determined by your reality. When it suddenly shifts, you lose your ability to control your life and your financial future. I had to ignore what everyone had to say to me and make decisions that went against what everybody else thought and did.
