No Gi Tai Otoshi to D'arce and Triangle (BJJ/Grappling)

Tai Otoshi can be incredible effective in no gi bjj, even though it’s primarily seen as a judo throw with the gi. Here we look at it as a takedown from the overhook (or whizzer) grip, beginning with inside position then establishing the overhook to keep our partner glued tightly to us at the upper body. It’s important to note that tai otoshi is NOT a hip throw - it’s the calf-to-shin contact that serves as the block to put them down.

Once down on the ground, we have two great options. If their underhook arm is short, we can attack with the d’arce. If the underhook is long, making it difficult to establish a grip for the d’arce, we create space and enter the stepover triangle. Both are excellent submission options.

Do you have any advice on preventing the roll through after this throw?

If the other guy is able to use momentum to roll through, and/or hook your tai otoshi-leg with his, he is able to get to a leg drag position on you.

I'm asking this, as I've inadvertently used this version while going for the uchimata you introduced before, and the above happens most of the time.
