1) ‘I Want a Library Card’
Fearing his mother had had a breakdown or worse in “Fight For Your Mind,” Alex hightailed it to Iowa, only to discover that… she was fine.
More than fine, actually. And when he got over his upset that her mental state had improved now that he no longer needed her,
he was able to say sincerely, “I’m really happy for you.”

2) ‘Could We Do It in New York?’
Arizona’s hurt over having been ghosted by mentor Nicole fell by the wayside when the blind doctor invited her to start the Robbins-Herman Center for Women’s Health.
And yeah, sure, they could do it in New York, meaning that Sofia could live with both of her moms, and Calzona fans could imagine that they’d reunited.

3) ‘You Get to Be Happy’
We nearly had a heart attack when Bailey had one in “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper.” At least in its aftermath,
she gave Ben the all-clear to go work at Station 19. “Life is too precious,” she told her husband, “to waste doing anything less than what makes us happy.”

4) ‘I’m Game Either Way’
After “smart and funny and hot” doctor/patient Nick made it clear that, whether he and Meredith went with her dreamy Plan B or his,
he was interested, she confessed to Alex that McTransplant had “made me feel something that I haven’t felt since Derek.”

5) Happy Ending
We expected “Danger Zone” to be full of flashbacks to Nathan, Megan, Owen and Teddy’s tour of duty in Iraq. What we didn’t expect was that,
when Nathan and Megan moved to Malibu, that was going to be it. Nathan wouldn’t be returning to Seattle, and Martin Henderson wouldn’t be on the show anymore.

6) ‘I’m Corrupting a Baby’
In “Judgment Day,” Owen’s dream of becoming a father at last came true when foster son Leo moved in — on the same day that Grey Sloan got high on pot cookies.
So after using “99 Bottles of Beer” as a lullaby, the beginner dad marveled that in under 24 hours, he’d “exposed him to drugs and heavy drinking.”

7) ‘You Are My Home’
In previous relationships, “I always wanted to run,” Jo told Alex in “Old Scars, Future Hearts,” “until I met you. You’re so screwed up that you make me make sense
” Thus began the perfectly imperfect marriage proposal that at last gave Jolex fans the engagement for which they’d waited so long.

8) ‘Congrats, Meredith!’
Kleenex, stat! There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when, at the tail end of the series’ 300th episode,
Meredith not only won the Harper Avery Award for Surgical Innovation, she pictured applauding next to Maggie, Zola and her other well-wishers in the O.R.
gallery her late mother, Ellis.

9) ‘Don’t Take April… Please’
April’s near-death experience in “Cold as Ice” chilled us almost as much as it did her.
But it was Jackson’s desperate prayer at her bedside that really gave us goosebumps.
“I’ll do whatever You want,” he told a God he’d never believed in. “I’ll do anything. If You exist, just don’t take her away, OK?”
