Bailey is such a proud parent. Two of her students have been nominated for Harper Avery Awards. One won, the other should have won.

I’m crying right now. Meredith won the very deserved Harper Avery Award. The mention of Lexie Grey and how proud she would be, just breaks my heart because mer was such an inspiration to her. And the mention of Derek shepherd, and him anticipating this day would soon come. He believed in her every step of the way. And, how Ellis grey was in the gallery clapping proudly in Merediths name was so heartwarming. Mer believing her mom being proud of her. And her working to her mothers expectations and abilities. Meredith has grown so much as a surgeon, person and friend. She is so strong with the loss, fear, tears and anger that passed through her during all her surgical days. All of the Greys Anatomy characters have grown in unimaginable ways. From growing as a person to accepting new people onto the field. Their life is a game. Their team has ups and downs, rocky roads, struggles, interference, and many more game “puns.” The support, satisfaction, life and changes to this show are raised to strengthen all of the characters. The deaths, exits, incidents, issues, breakups and other struggles are what built the strong team in the show. This show has so much power and inspiration to it. It shares drive, intimidation, loss, happiness, drama, romance, struggles, frustration, confidence and so much more. The varieties of emotions flown through this show is inspiring. It’s so inspiring that i have rewatched probably 17 times. Improving the watching improves my surgical knowledge for a future as a surgeon. It’s my goal, ever since I was 6-7 when i began following this show. I hope to be as successful, driven, and Confident under all frustrations like Dr. Meredith Grey, and her fellow colleagues. I’m proud to say, I’m a Greysaholic. :)

I don't know what made me cry more, Meredith almost immediately turning around to hug Bailey or seeing her mom 😭

I'm proud of you, Mer. You are everything Jackson said you were and so much more. You have become an amazing mom, a kickass surgeon and an extraordinary woman. I'm glad Bailey and Richard and the others were there to share this moment. Even though Lexie and Derek couldn't be there to share your triumphs, Bailey and Richard are as much your parents as Ellis was. They are proud of you too. I could have sword I saw Bailey crying a bit as she hugged you.

I just watched when Meredith was feeling jealous when Cristina got nominated. That taught me that we should wait for our turn. It might take longer time but we should exercise patience. We should just keep working hard. I love greys anatomy. It teaches me so many lessons. I love you shonda rhimes

I stopped watching after Callie and Arizona broke up and after Derek died because that was all the friggin loss I could take from this damned show; however, every now and then I peek to see what's up with my beloved characters and holy crap!! Mer won the Harper Avery!! 😭😭

Rewatching Grey's and finally got to this episode again. I didn't remember that this episode is the same episode where the baby George, baby Cristina, and baby Izzie came... That's so crazy, the writers are crazy for this 😭 when Jackson mentioned Lexie and Derek, and when Ellis appeared, I'm crying again here 😭😭😭

Personally I feel like Meredith seeing her mum in the gallery was her way of wishing that her mother was there to share the win with her. Yes she was surrounded with those she loves most, however, as complicated as their relationship was Ellis would have been proud to see her daughter win this award

My favorite parts of this scene are Bailey in tears and just so proud of Meredith, and seeing Ellis applauding for her daughter. Just so lovely.

We all wish Lexie and Derek and all who passed on to the other side to be with Ellis clapping. But these people already believed in Meredith. Ellis, by Meredith’s narrative, had always been disappointed with Meredith.
So Mer seeing the ghost of her Mom in the gallery, happy, clapping and proud is the absolute testament that she finally met her mother’s expectations, and that is to be more than ordinary.
