I was hesitant doing the brown ink exploration because I did not know if I even had enough to do a video like this, and when I went through my collection, I "thought" I had quite a few. By the end of this video, I'm not too sure! What are your favourite brown inks? #fountainpenink

Honestly I think including the borderline "not-actually-brown" browns is actually really helpful, because it helps define the boundaries of where browns start to become other colours.

I like them all in a brown exploration. I would rather see all the variations than just a few true browns.

Ina Ho reminds me of Caffe Crema and Kelp Tea reminds me of Scarecrow by Wearinguel (it tends to look green while it's wet and then dries brown). Dusted Truffle was one of my favorites from the Invkent calendar.
Lie de Thé will always be one of my favorite inks.❤

I love the browns, especially the pinky browns. I like the various ideas of browns. I really enjoyed the greenish browns. Green is not one of my favorite colors but finding green browns is really exciting. I put several of these on my want list. One of my favorite browns is SRBE brown. I think several other commenters mentioned it as well. I loved your exploration video.

Thank you for swatching all of these lovely brown inks, Karyna! I am new to the world of fountain pens and inks so i especially love it when i can see so many variations on one particular colour!!! I also really enjoyed your enthusiasm and fondness for swatching. I find the warmest shades and the pinky - browns really appeal to me ☺️🧡🤎

I would add Robert Oster “Whiskey”. It’s lovely & thanks for showing us the Birmingham PenCo. “Fox Squirrel”. I like that one a lot. 😊

I completely agree with you about Kelp Tea. I put that sample in several pens trying to figure it out. Very interesting ink shade. I love Biyori in my flex nib pens and it still surprises me how rosy it is. Dusted Truffle is perfection in my Pelikan m400 white tortoise. My ef nib has no difficulty with the shimmer because it writes so wet. Other browns in my collection I recommend are Diamine Macassar which is a beautiful deep brown, Diamine Golden Brown is exactly as it sounds and is not too pale, and 3 Oysters Mustard is a warmer mid-tone brown that leans a bit drier than Diamine but not as much as Sailor Studio inks. I love your selection of almost browns in this round-up and want to say the grouping makes perfect sense to me as my collection and thought process is quite similar (:

I love Ferris Wheel Press x Wonder Pens "Writers Desk" and J. Herbin's Terre d'Ombre. THey are both very similar, but I grab for both all the time!

My favourite brown inks are Diamine Brand Snap (Invent 2022) and Sailor Ink Studio 673. Yule Log and Dusted Truffle are amazing too.

The differences are fascinating not only in browns, but also grey, black etc. 😇🩷🙏🙌

I love brown inks so I was so excited to watch this!

Robert Oster Caffe Crema and Toffee (yellowish warm brown) which is almost the same as diamine gingerbread and On Inks (filipino brand) turon. Those four are all the same but i want full bottles lol! If you have tried Colorverse coffee break, for me all the above can be cousins.

Another favorite is Robert Oster Choc Pudding, this is (i think) a cool brown? I love it and I love the name lol!

I’m trying to love brown inks, but they aren’t my favorite. I’ve tried several. The one I thought I would like most, Monteverde Pumpkin Cake, I used once for making a swatch and then the next time I opened the bottle, it was practically dried out. Lol. That said, I have been using a mixture of DeAtramentis Document Yellow with a touch of Document Brown and Fuschia, to make a Golden Brown. It’s close to color if Diamine Honey Burst, and is my journaling ink of 2024.

I have the Inkvent and that Weeping Willow is very cool chromoshading, on swatches, but didn’t even work legibly in my wettest tuned pen. I guess it’s made more for art.

This was very enjoyable. I think Brown-Pink is its own color category. 😊 I would recommend you add to your collection Montblanc Toffee Brown, Robert Oster Melon Tea and Papier Plume Pecan. They are warm browns with interesting character.

Like nondescript little brown birds, they're all different shades of brown, and they're all lovely...
