Kevin here - Thanks for taking a look at this! I'll definitely take a look at cutting out some lower mids in the leads (maybe highpass them a bunch too) and automating the rhythm tracks down. In this mix I was using some ownhammer IRs, I always had issues getting what I wanted out of them but wasn't able to really figure out why. Makes sense that they sound out of phase to a trained set of ears. As far as clipping, yeah I fell victim to that "gotta be loud bro" mentality haha.

I was recording a demo for something today and tried the main guitar related changes you suggested and it made a huge difference. If anything I have the opposite problem now where the solos are too prominent haha. Ditched the impulse I was using, high passed the lead guitar at about 400hz, and automated a 2db drop in the rhythm guitars....and bam, the solos stick out so far that they dominate everything and grab the attention I was looking for. Thanks Bobby!!!
