Job evaluation: Number of job groups in public service reduced to 5

The number of job groups in the public service have been reduced to just five. The salaries and remuneration commission in its first job evaluation and grading exercise has taken the decision in a bid to reduce the pay disparities amongst different job groups as well as to get a clearer definition of who does what in the public service. NTV’s Brenda Wanga reports that professionals, middle and low level public servants are set to benefit from this move.
