Well russia do strongly follow traditional values. It have an all mighty Czar while peasants lives are worth less than that of a fly. They have a state based on massive opression and militarism today - just like they always had the last 500 years or so.

Russia was last in Europe to abolish serfdom, and not only that - their serfdom was so harsh that it do not even deserve to be called serfdom, as it had more in common with slavery than with European style serfdom. Indeed in some ways it was even more opressive than the slavery in USA.
