My question, ive seen people "prove" their limits for functions through factorising and it ending up working to what they thought f(x) ends up as when it approaches x. Is this sound even though they arent equivalent functions? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

4:30 interesting...
but why cant we simplify the fx equation? isnt that what mathematicians do before even inserting numbers?
i mean 0.0/0 is still 0
