For an introductory college-level earth sciences class: Review of the major landforms and physical features found on the ocean floor -- their locations and origins. Includes a discussion of seafloor bathymetry including the continental shelf, continental slope, continental rise, abyssal plain, mid-ocean ridges, and rift valleys. Compares passive continental margins and active continental margins.

Wrong! 3:11 Continental shelf is not made from sediment that collects along the coast by rivers and gravity carrying it to the oceans. Please correct that. The continental shelf is the continuation of the continent that extends underwater. The rock under the shelf is granitic continental crust. It is also covered by sediments deposited there.
