Vegan Shredded Cheese Taste Test

We went into the kitchen to do an epic vegan shredded cheese taste test challenge!

Over a few days we hit up 6 different local stores and found 10 different vegan shredded mozzarella cheeses. Now we’re dishing out the details on which is the best and ranking them so you don’t have to dish out money to decide yourself!

They are all dairy and egg free. Most are soy and gluten free. Some are free from all allergens.

Since I cook with theses often I found that if you dome some tin foil over your pizza for half your cooking time the cheeze will melt it needs a little moisture to help it melt and then uncover and you cook a little longer and you get the browning on the top 😊

my one problem with these cheese is the texture when they melt, it feel more sticky in the mouth, i find that Daiya sticky, the taste is better then before, i tried the Violife cheddar it is good but still feels sticky ..im still in search of the one and only stretchy cheese...

You should get your hands on some miyokos mozzarella, it’s absolutely amazing. Their vegan butter is also superior to anything you have ever had.

It's best to melt the cheese with a little bit of oil or butter right before putting it on the pizza.

Follow Your Heart has definitely been my go-to pizza cheese, although its unfortunately really hard to find around where I live. I really enjoy the Violife cheese but I don't think you can buy it packaged in Canada unfortunately, although its available as an option at one of our pizza chains which is neat.

My faaaavorite for pizza is Miyokos Mozzerella but it’s not shredded cheese in a bag it’s a small circular round (and pricey)!

The only thing stopping me from going vegan overnight is pizza. I LOVE pizza so much but the only vegan cheese I’ve ever had was daiya and it was ~nasty~ so I’m trying again to find a good cheese and I think I’ll try the follow your heart one.
