Italo Calvino is great to read, both for native speakers and learners.

I'm a huge fan of your short stories books. The stories are interesting and the vocabulary is manageable. Thank you for this great tool.

I've long since given up on learning italian but definably it's going to be my third language after mastering Spanish. I'll let this video be my lifeline when the time to learn italian comes.

Grazie Mille Olly! Mi molto piace il tuo (videos?) e penso che il tuo (method?) per imparare l’italiano molto aiutarmi. I just started not too long ago so excuse my limited vocabulary, ma veramente penso leggere l’italiano con i tuoi libri work the best at teaching.

I don’t read with parallel text. BUT I can see the advantages. If you don’t like them, keep the page covered. I also think you can do a first read through in the target language. Second read in parallel and third on, in target language. I think they are useful for grammar-translation cultures, where without the parallel, they might just go translate every word separately. Ick.

Also, Italian is the only language I read for entertainment outside of English, despite speaking 8 languages. I don’t know why that happened but it might be connected to the way I learned Italian. Sadly, most of my reading has been books in translation and my French and Spanish studies have already taught me that that does not produce the most natural language. Definitely gonna need to check out this fairy tale book. And some day, Ima finally buy me an Olly Richards book.

I was just browsing YouTube for music while searching for good Italian reading material for beginners and show this video. What are the odds? Thanks for the recommendations :)

Sto imparando Italiano da 3 mesi e ho appena comprato il libro Easy Stories in Italian di Ollie ed e “ une merveille” Adatto, direi, per il equivalent di nivello “lower sixth”. Potresti non superare mai sto livello e cavartila senza problemi in Italia. Si stratta del libro con coperta aranciata e lo recemando a 100%. Chapeau a Snr Ollie!

Omg it's Olly Richards!!!! I'm reading one of pf your short story books and I'm enjoying it so much I had to look for more. One bone to pick: the story about the knight and the gold needs more chapters I was hooked on that one

How do you learn pronunciation woth this method? Do you listen to an audiobook simultaneously?

Pinocchio is a classic, but it's really regional, it is written in a Tuscan of the late 1800s, so it has some uncommon words, but it's simple because it's meant to be read especially by children.

I suggest ti read also "I promessi sposi"
(The Betrothed), by Alessandro Manzoni.
Is a cult of italian literature, a classic love novel set in an historical Italy.

I suggest the book "Cuore" by E. De Amicis. I read it as an adult and I found it amazing.
