I felt this man. My husband works at a kid dangerous job and I'm completely dependent on him....emotionally and financially. I told him I don't know if I could ever love someone like I love him. I might get remarried just to have a second parent for our kids (I'm pregnant with our first now so we would have at least one) but I doubt I'd ever love like I love him.

After 18 years together im in my 30s now with our first baby due in just 2 weeks. My husband and I have talked about this often over the last 18 years. It's a terrible terrible thing to think about but it's also our responsibility to think about it and be prepared for the worst case. I know what my finances will look like, I know what my hypothetical game plan would look like. But the marriage thing . . . . .I could never imagine ever re marrying my soul to another person. My husband and I met when I was 13 . . . . That was 20 years ago. He is my world, my everything. I think I'd devote myself to our daughter. However then he would be sad because he would want me to find love again. I just don't know that I could.

Okay, so, if you die in a tragic accident you should want your partner to eventually move forward and find love again. It’s totally normal to start dating a year or so after losing your partner (though also normal if it takes you longer.)

However, given they are actually having a baby now - dude, stop thinking about how fast your wife would start dating again if you died, and START thinking about the position your family would be in financially if you died. In other words, LIFE INSURANCE.
