I move around too much while sleeping. They love me a lot. But prefer to sleep not in my bed. Its more peacefull for them. So that not sleeping with you is not 100percent accurate.

mostly male cats do this..females do this with other male cats if they feel threatened or want to be submissive /prevent being bitten by male cat...male dogs engage in showing their butt for different reasons..my male dog doesn't let my female dog go near his butt...its a dominance thing i think within same species ..female dogs dont do this ever with their humans..maybe because they don't feel like they need to be submissive to humans and feel secure? ..even the ones that love you dearly..will express it in other ways ..
male and females have different ways of expressing their feelings.
my 15 year old female never bit me..even when in extreme pain and rage..male dogs are capable of biting but will immediately show remorse, guilt and even ask for forgivness...and prove to be your bestest friend by being protective of you and gaurding you as their own..female dogs are also protective but not as much as the males.
keep that in mind when you own both male and female..they are both lovely in their own way and both capable of loving to the same degree..just express it differently..both are loyal.

PS: Your cat biting you doesn't really apply to puppies..hilarious that some puppy owners will be offended by a teething baby or even think it doesn't love them! OMG!! Let's train the babies to be mature adults

My cat Shadow jumps up on the couch and turns his fanny towards my face and just stands there for a I don't think he has a pair of eyes back there there. I tell him I think it's pretty can I give my little tap on the bum and he turns I have no idea why he does that.
