GUADALAJARA, MEXICO

We woke up in the best western hotel in Guadalajara and were about to explore the town. We stayed in Centro Historico which is one of the most popular places in the town. We started out by looking at the Guadalajara Cathedral, then walked around the town and also took a bus to the famous Tlaquepaque. We started our travels in Puerto Vallarta and passed by San Sebastian, Mascota, and in the coming videos we will be going to Tequila. I had previously traveled the whole west coast also and stopped in other Major cities like Manzanillo, Zihuatanejo, Mazatlan, La Paz and Cabo San Lucas.

Guadalajara is a city in western Mexico. It’s known for tequila and mariachi music, both born in Jalisco, the state of which Guadalajara is the capital. Guadalajara’s historic center is dotted with colonial plazas and landmarks such as the neoclassical Teatro Degollado and a cathedral with twin gold spires.

The portico of the teatro Degollado, supporting the pediment, consists of 16 Corinthian columns, contain influence that is much more Roman than Greek but the style is similar. In the interior there is a mural representing Dante Alighieri's fourth canto in the Divine Comedy.
