I think it's time to bring eyes, teeth and mind into Canadian universal healthcare

Had to go to the doctor yesterday and I went for a blood test & ECG directly afterwards. I did not have to pay any money out-of-pocket for any of it, which I think is pretty good. Does our health care system still need work? Sure, but it could be a lot worse!

I'm a psychotherapist in private practice, and I so desperately wish there was more mental health coverage. Our current system makes it much harder for me to provide care to low income people (who often need it most), due to having to balance providing care, and managing to maintain a decent income to support myself. If we had a system in which every person could access even 10 sessions with a counsellor/therapist per year, we would see a world of transformation.

Just came home from the dentist. I got half my crown started. $500 and $500 in two weeks to finish. Now I have great coverage. I couldn’t imagine not having coverage. People, need full coverage!

Yeah, i have a broken tooth and 3 impacted wisdom teeth that I cannot afford to see a dentist about. Not to mention that every time I go to the dentist they work their absolute hardest to max out my insurance as humanly possible.

As an American we too have similar healthcare except along with eyes and teeth our insurance plans don’t really cover the rest of the head along with the chest, abdomen, pelvis, arms, and legs.
