This guy needs some help! Kevin Blackwood found himself trapped in an Aldi supermarket after it closed, but he says it wasn’t his fault. Blackwood says that the cashier closed the store 15 minutes early, and apparently never checked if there were any customers inside. He didn’t have to worry about starving though - he was surrounded by food and even some booze. His unintended incarceration happened in 2020 but only recently went viral. Police eventually freed him and found the incident amusing.

For an Aldi store, that's a big location. And to be locked inside, even more.

This guy is living every child's dream of being locked inside a grocery store with the exception of not eating everything he wants

It was smart to call the cops instead of tripping the alarm trying to get out. They probably wouldn’t have believed he was locked in the store.

“The cop did not ever arrive to unlock the door” would’ve been better.

This is the best thing that has ever happened to him. A story he will tell everyone he meets.

A person who worked at the store and left early probably going to get busted by the manager

Wonder if the cashier still has their job after closing the store early and leaving.

The store was at fault, they shouldn't have closed early especially without doing decent end of night checks! This guy seemed very upbeat and calm though!

This happened more than once at a Sears department store i worked at years ago. The place would close at like 6pm on Sunday. Most people didnt know this and thought it was open until 8-9pm like on weekdays. it was a rather large building, 3 floors. On occasion a customer would be wandering around and not realize the place was closing up, maybe be in the restroom or something. Security was suppose to sweep the building and make certain nobody was left inside but would just do a half assed job. Now this was the days before cell phones were mainstream-back in the 1980s so as far as i know the people had to either find a store phone and figure out how to call out or use a payphone. I wouldn't say this happened often but it did happen at least 2-3 times when i worked there.

Man this was actually a fantasy for me when I was a little kid. I wanted to get locked in the store so I could eat all of the snacks and ice cream LOL

He must have been on headphones when the staff announced that they're gonna close.

This actually happened to me once in a clothing store I used to work at. It was my first night closing and I got a little behind and everyone else finished so the manager let everyone go and while I went to the break room to grab my stuff she set the alarm and left. The second I walked out of the break room to leave the alarms went off. I freaked and didn't want to just leave so I called the mall security where I worked and they contacted the manager right as the cops showed up to investigate. Was a crazy first night haha

I would have spent the night and acted like I didn’t have a phone 😂

Reminds me of that one guy who tried suing a store after he got locked in so he tried breaking out instead of calling 911. Except in this situation, it was actually a smart person who called the authorities instead of damaging property.

As a kid, my actual ass would have a weird anxiety feeling whenever they announced over loudspeaker that the store would be closing soon. A feeling akin to when you’re afraid of heights. I’d get this sense of urgency to leave the store before it closes.

People in these situations record themselves or livestream so there’s proof that they didn’t break in just in case cops question them.
