I’m in east Texas so I appreciate you explaining the different regions and painting the picture of how to set up a trap.

I'm so glad somebody who has trapped north and come south said it. Mink are one of the few furbearers I've trapped north and south and up north they was almost like possums for bait, and like you said it ain't that it won't take mink hear it's just not poke a hole sling some fish bed and trap and run the next. When I hear "experts" say that I know they ain't never been no wear else!
Good video Dale

After all your years of trapping and expertise I would be curious as to what you have landed on for your preferred water trapping slide system? Maybe you could do a video about all the pros and cons of each system and what you have learned about them over the years. (Wood 2x2’s, 3’ T-bar, sacks filled with rocks, or disposable stakes for staking deep side) (wire vs aircraft cable) (predetermined length like 6, 8, 10’ of cable or wire wrapped around staking system with trap attached vs spooling it out while making the set on the riverbank) (fiberglass or rebar rod slide system) thanks Dale, u have great knowledge and content 👍

Great information and that Is one reason I try and stay away from trapping down here in the summer to many things that will bite you lol

was thinking about using pvc tubes around the sandbars and rockpiles for mink . find a good many mink tracks and poop on the logs and rocks . they do avoid the baits .

I use blind sets for mink mainly here in Iowa and when I was in Massachusetts. It works both places. I do not use bait . I do use beaver castor for them . Thanks . I was taught by a friend and fur buyer how to trap them and other animals. Thanks
