the best sound out of the pocket pod is in stereo - so you need the minijack plug going to 2 x whatever input your audio in/out device requires.

of course you can record i mono if you like and record without fx and add fx in your host s/w mixer etc.

The metal clip is more than just a ‘gimmick’ you can use it for clipping the pod to the carry handle on your amp.
Holds it nicely on top right next to the amp controls and you don’t need blu-tak.
Plus it keeps it off the floor so you don’t need to bend down to change the settings, which is brilliant if you use it for playing live.

you dont need the usb except to edit/store/load patches beyond the editing save/load you can do onboard. To record: either use a stereo minijack output going to two inputs on your daw and record in stereo into your daw (then u get stereo cabinet-modelling spread & any stereo fx included). or use the 1/4" output in mono & add stereo fx in the daw

yes!, headphones on this sounds awesome, the stereo effect is great. if you turn the master volume up (on instructions) and its loud enuff to make yr ears bleed.
sending of to a stereo rig would sound great, it gives the reverb and delay a real live room feel and sound

Very good review! But actually you can use the tuner extra-controls without having to keep holding down the button. Just get in the "tuner mode" and turn the knobs to adjust the volume, pitch and sensitivity.

yes, but the amp out is mono & different, no stereo modelling spread or stereo fx.

hold the save button for 2 seconds and you dont have to keep hold of it, just press the tap button the get of the second features :)

I'm not crazy about the idea of the tap tempo. My Line6 Spyder IV 15 amp has that too, and it's not the most useful of things. If I want, say, tremolo at 3.2 Hz, the best I'm going to get is a gross approximation. I'd rather be able to enter it in using a dial or button. I suppose one is able to adjust the tempo setting in software if the unit is hooked up to a USB port, right?

so what the difference in selecting the cabinets A, B, C, D and direct? i know it's power amp/ cabinet amp, closed or open back. but what does that mean? i have a fender starter pack amp, which setting should i use?

can you use this thing for gigs? I mean changing effects and clean/dis in the middle of a song? It would save me on a "just plug into the PA" situation as long as I can change effects in the middle of a song quickly.

mine worked fine but god, why couldn't they include cables that i can mail order from china for 99p with delivery, i mean i would have paid and extra £2 knowing i would of got everything i needed but good thing i checked what was in the box before i purchased it. for such a big company line 6 cut corners needlessly

Would you need anything else other than the guitar, usb cable and quarter inch cable in order to record into your computer? As in any other interface or software? Thanks

You'd have to hook your midi pedal and the pocket pod (via usb) to a computer. midi in/out only works through usb
