David Bowie interview 2002. David talks with MTV presenter Ray Cokes for ARTE. I recorded this from digital satellite receiver, September 13th 2002. Recorded using JVC Nicam Hifi VCR, fresh BASF SXG E240 tape at SP, tape archive 1970. This was one of the last broadcasts I recorded using video tape. By early 2002 I was recording on Panasonic DVD recorders, but would still on occasion use video tape..

Even Bowie couldn't precisely keep track of all his long-haired characters. What an inventor he was. Here he had just let his hair down after being the high-haired Bowie approx 10 years earlier at the Mercury memorial concert. The high-haired Bowie was the one that stuck with me probably cause of it. Ray is just immaculate as always. He's got his own channel on youtube now. Great man.
