The second American Civil War has been raging for the past 15 years at least .

A new progressive Marxism married with LGBT orthodoxy has locked horns with an oligarch Christian nationalism, and this fight has swept up nearly all bystanders. It’s turned family against family and father against son so thoroughly it puts the first civil war to shame. Nearly every family you meet has a casualty to the lgbt cult, even the most staunchly faithful families are not spared. Politically speaking, there is a lot of division among my family, and among my ward, and among my neighborhood, community, and county. Perhaps civil strife is not the same as civil war, but I remember the days when generally speaking I knew that most everyone in my community held the same political beliefs.
Nowadays, we can't even guess at a person's political leanings based on their lifestyle — it is so scattered.

The battles among neighbors and industry shut down reminds me of some situations during covid with the riots in many cities. Although the riots were not the sole cause of businesses being closed, they were the cause of many being destroyed, fear of going about our business, and an awakening which have caused righteous to speak up and out about the happenings in our country.

After having done our due diligence in terms of research and having considered the (any?) question from various angles, perspectives and sources and If ultimately the question is simply whether or not the predictions of Orson Pratt are to be taken literally ( i.e the US will be subject to a second civil war which will be far worse and more destructive than the first one) or can be subject to a "softer" or alternative interpretation (America will repent and thus the prophesized destructions and tribulations will be averted at least to some extent), then the definitive and correct answer can only come from the Spirit itself. Difficult as it may be, we should not allow our personal interpretation to color our judgment but rely on the whisperings and confirmation of the Spirit.

I did a video on this prophecy of a 2nd Civil war and also a couple quotes (that are 3rd hand but in the church archives) by Joseph Smith that it would start in Chicago as a result of the economy and that it would be a bloody war with mother against daughter, etc. My takeaway is that it is very possible this could happen in the US, especially with the political division now in our country but I think that the worst of it may be in some of the large cities of the country but not cover the whole country but that there will be places of safety and security in the Stakes of Zion. (Just as when the saints went to Utah they were not affected by the Civil War in the 1860s) and It does not mean the only safe place will be in Jackson County. As the Prophet & others keep telling us there are places of safety all over the world in the stakes of ZIon.

Look at Zion in Salt Lake Valley when Civil War broke out. First Johnsons army had a leadership shift as Col. Johnson went back to fight and die in Civil War. The USArmy built Fort Douglas where University of Utah was built. An industry was built that served the prople of Salt Lake. By selling ptoducr, animald, wagond, laundry services etc. The Saints eere blessed.

With how the political system is going in the United States, there might be a second civil war. There are so many things happening in our Country that are corrupt and with a lot of unrest, things could escalate quickly. I just hope that the righteous are caught up/translated so we won't have to go through all the trails.

Jared, I thought your point with the misconception, "You will have to literally fight your neighbor in combat or flee to the New Jerusalem in Jackson County, Missouri for physical safety" was that we weren't all going to gather to Missouri for safety and that we would not have to battle our way to get there. I didn't think any of those quotes you provided to debunk this misconception contradicted Orson Pratt's predictions/prophecy. In my opinion, both can be true. We just flee to our designated places of refuge in our stakes of Zion to escape the widespread civil unrest and bloodshed that will take place, rather than trudge our way to Missouri. Am I missing something?
