It's crazy how a video game can spread classic hits from a bygone era to a younger generation.

When I hear this song, I remember aimless wandering through the empty desert with nothing but a gun and a guy complaining about his dead wife.

I played fallout new Vegas a lot growing up. It’s weird but this game kinda raised me. My mom was going through a divorce and I didn’t have friends. My step dad was horrible. But I played fallout and it got me through it. Thinking back on it makes me cry.

"You've made your last delivery, kid. Sorry you got twisted up in this scene. From where your needing it must seem like an 18 Karat run of bad luck, truth is... the game was rigged from the start."

I have found several versions of Frank Sinatra singing Blue Moon. I guess the New Vegas version was remastered because it sounds the nicest :3
"It's me again, Mr. New Vegas, reminding you that you're nobody 'til somebody loves you. And that somebody is me. I love you."

This song always makes me remember the nights I spent in the Mojave Wasteland.  I'm already getting antsy for the next Fallout.

And then suddenly it appeared before me
The only one glitch that I will never love
I heard somebody whimper please kill me
And when I looked the whole game froze

Blue moon
You saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

Blue moon
You knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked to the moon it turned to gold

Blue moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will ever hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked the moon had turned to gold

Blue moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

Blue moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

When I hear this song all I think of is the opening cutscene and seeing the empty lucky 38 as it goes out into the streets and you see the drunk NCR troops and gamblers and the securitrons patrolling the streets. Then it cuts to the overview shot of New Vegas and the NCR ranger snipes the fiend right in the head as it shows you a Legion squad moving out in the distance. This opening does so many subtle things beautifully. The level of mystery surrounding the strip and the factions and Mr House himself had me playing all day and night.I remember walking into the strip for the first time it was like 6 am and I was dead tired but I just kept wanting to play more and more

This game singlehandedly got me into listening to Frank Sinatra, and for that I am eternally grateful.

Fallout 3 had the post apocalypse atmosphere down pat that is definite. But I like new vegas because it both ties in to the original games and has a warmer more inviting atmosphere. Both games are good for what they are though.
