I take Prazosin for my nightmares. It really helps quite my mind at bedtime. I haven't had any trauma related dreams since I stared taking it.

I’m currently taking it right now after 5 deployments. This medicine helps with nightmares but the side effects will make you dizzy and lightheaded all the time especially when driving

The medication they put me on didn’t work and it also made it more intense especially the dreams .

Don't want pills, I don't want shots, I just want to know how to defeat PTSD.

I get flashbacks with or without remembering the trauma event. I just suddenly feel sad without any cause!!! Sadness literally pops up from nowhere.

Ssris do nothing for intrusive thoughts. Propranolol does. Propranolol combined with memory recollection cure ptsd and make ssris unnecessary.

Meds have a hard time working on me. But stick with it. I can't function with nothing, and I am still working to find the right medication balance.

No word of a lie, Paxil helps me, but for my sister, no dice. Thankfully we are both alive and well

After finding not much help from medication I tried something different I started hormone replacement therapy, I started taking 250mg a week of Testosterone & 2iu of human growth hormone every morning and my sense of well-being, improved sleep and much more energy and sex drive like I had in my 20’s so I suggest for the men that if nothing else is helping try giving this a go.

today UCLH (London) published a paper saying anti depressant don’t seem to work as claimed.

I think my Mom has PTSD, she had a bad past 15 years ago. She can’t sleep at night, depressed and sometimes becomes way too emotional and angry if she got triggered about her past.

Please help if you know what this is…

I thought the only real treatment for PTSD are antipsychotics is why I was scared to get treated for it but if there's something else with less problems I can take besides antidepressants which I'm already on, I will go for it. I'm also going to help look for a therapist who practice EMDR because I seriously need it. I can't take the stress anymore. I was taking Klonopin onto ativan but klonopin stopped working and Ativan only helps to relieve severe stress sometimes. I wish it could work for me all the time whenever I am feeling severely stress which PTSD is, ongoing stress unlike natural stress that does not go away easily but last all day and make you wish you could just be strung out on opiods or benzodiazepines

So are there any medications besides SSRI's? I don't think celibacy will work for me or my spouse and SSRI's completely 100% block orgasm for me. Like high power wand for an hour AFTER intimacy and can't get there. The last time I took SSRI for like 6 months and NEVER had one and tried a lot. Came back about 2 months after stopping. Dr's solution....well sex doesn't have to be about the orgasm. Okay, I'll let my husband start and make him quit right before he finishes because it isn't about the orgasm, right? Oh...it's different for men? Yeah, the female equivalent of blue balls is just as uncomfortable.
