Construction Workers Break Large Glass Window || ViralHog

Occurred on October 20, 2021 / Columbus, Ohio, USA

I was working on a job next to this construction site just West of Downtown Columbus, Oh. I heard the construction workers start shouting while they were placing windows on a new building, and took out my phone to record this video just in time to see them break a window. Once the commotion settled down, I put my phone away and went on to my next job.

This happens all the time. People in the office do not understand what construction workers go through, yes we make the decisions but there are so many factors that cause things to go wrong. However at least it looked like no one got injured or killed. Material can be replaced.

Toughened glass always has a weak spot, we had to do a demo in an office with a couple panes and couldn't fit them through the door whole so we tried to smash them and the sledgy just kept bouncing off it for about half an hr, then one of the older blokes (after laughing at us the whole time) came over and tapped his hammer along the edge a couple times and the thing just shattered.

I love the semi-relaxed peeking all the guys do after the glass falls down.

Having seen a few fuck ups at a worksite, unless there's a scream, it's always a passive "Well. That sucks"

This is quite common in New construction projects.
A cpl get broken. It's added into the cost and material cost.

Tempered glass are very sensitive when you hit the edges, it will break easily!

Holy that broke far easier than Id have thought considering the glass used for exteriors of skyscrapers is supposed to be very strong layered heat-strengthened glass that can withstand extreme weather conditions and temperature changes.
