Why did they accuse him of blasphemy and pick up stones to kill him after he said "I am"?

While being tempted, Jesus also says “Again it is written, thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God”

Your answer is not convincing though. If you read the whole context then you will understand what Jesus was saying.

Sorry don't find this convincing. Jesus said that way because He wanted to convey something very important to them.

That's why they wanted to stone Him. They didn't want to stone Him cause He said, "I am the good shepherd" they wanted to stone Him cause He likened Himself to God and used the name of God to refer to Himself.

It then says the Jews tried to stone Him; so clearly the Jews understood what He was saying ..

The answer sounds great to a person who never read Bible, but not to a person who read and understand Bible...
May God open your eyes to see the truth.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Jeremiah 1:5

The Koran makes the assertion that Jesus never died on the cross. That should be enough for anybody serious about history.

He didn't know how to answer the question hence the insufficiency of the answer.

The people understood what he was saying, so, they reacted accordingly. That means that the muslims don't understand what Jesus was saying...

"Before Abraham was, I am". After this passage of the Gospel, we have : " So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple." . They understood what he claimed to be (God) and it was an outrage for jews.

John 8: 58 Yahshua is simply saying Before Abraham was born He already existed. Bless you.

When your mom knocks on the door and before opening you ask “ who is this” and you hear words “It’s me”. Your mom doesn’t need to tell her her name or her identity at all because you know your mom voice, same way those who are not his sheep will not hear his voice nor know his voice. John 10:27

"Others have said"... Thats enough to prove he doesn't have a clue. It is the same I AM that God spoke to Moses... There is no "others have said" when talking scripture.

If it was a grammar then Jesus would tell before Abraham I was. Not Before Abraham was, I am. Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life. He is God. Trinity cannot be understood by people who are not born again or at least unless God speaks light unto their heart.

You either believe in what Jesus said or not. You can't believe what a man 600 years later came and said. He changed Jesus like so many other religions/cults. The Quran calls Jesus the word of God, the spirit of God and the messiah. Open your eyes my Muslim brothers and sisters! The Quran also says the people of the book have the Jesus is the way, the truth and the life! Please open your eyes before it's too late!

He also says “I and the Father are One”

“I Am who I Am” it’s a name that God revealed to Moses and “I Am” is the name that God told Moses to tell Israelites

Jesus say if you’ve see me you’ve see the father, I and My father are one .

Basically he don't have the answer and try to drown the passage with very obscure extrabiblical arguments.
Jesus said that he shared the glory with the Father before the world began.
He claimed to be the Son of Man, which is a divine title. Jews even accused him of making himself God.
Jesus also claimed to be THE way, THE truth and THE life, a claim that no other than God can make.
Jesus claimed that him and the Father are one.
Etc...

Shabir Ally is disingenuous when it comes to the authors of the Bible but yet use a fallacious approach on the obvious Quranic flaws regarding genealogy, scientic claims, tawhid, etc...
