Im an experienced stinger MOS guy and the missle has a proximity detonation program that plots an intercept path and a near miss self- destruct feature. Not impossible, but the stinger is well known to be highly lethal.

DCS in VR is probably the single greatest video gaming experience I've ever had. Worth every penny for the PC system to get it going, and the time to learn the aircraft.
