This is my restoration project and commuter bike for school. She has around 40K miles and still runs like a champ. Cleaned the carbs, tightened cam chain, new air filters, new tires, new turn signals, new battery, new handle bar (changing to a renthal soon), new tail light, new headlight, vance and hines exhaust, recent paint job, CDI magnetic ignition with new twin coil, new spark plugs and new 7mm spark plug wires.

I plan on doing a lot more, let me know what you all think.

I bought my bike for $250 and it is in decent shape. The carbs alone sell on egay for around $600-700 so I think I came out on top. It also has 1100 heads on it so it'll be a screamer when I get it finished.

Sweet looking bike. I think you have some 29 smoothies there also. I have a 1980 I am restoring it also has the 29 smooth bores. I am going with the blacked out look with a little chrome here and there.

I've worked on plenty of bikes, but this was the only one I truly miss.

@ryandthack Thank you watching. I referenced the smooth bores and yeah that explains a lot about my throttle response. It is linear through a broad range, love it. The previous owner fit them on there and I guess I'm lucky to have'em. Let me know when you put your video up.

The ground for the turn signals are the black cable that is attached to the blinker assembly. This should directly connect into another cable in the main lighting harness. Black is almost always ground. Remember, LED lights need special connections in order to blink for these older bikes. Simple bulbs are not complicated installations. Plug and screw on and play. Good luck

I've got the same bike. Stock handlebars. Did you swap the bars yourself? If so, how did you do it? Did you drill and put the wires through the bars?
