As an Armenian, it’s all hard to digest. If Hayk was real, then Togarmah is real because of family trees, if Togarmah is real, Gomer is real, if Gomer is real, Japheth is real, if he is real, Noah is real, and if you go all the way back, it means Adam and Eve are real, which means “a god” made humanity. It’s all so interesting.

Did you know that one of the Assyrian kings “who lived in tents” was named Belu? You can consult the Assyrian King List. It’s another interesting possibility that would roughly line up with the time Hayk might have been alive (as leader of a group or the group itself). By no means verifiable, but we have several possible scenarios.

Hayk is real, as a metaphor or as a mythological demigod, in my interpretation. Hayk fully resembles urartian god Khaldi and their attributes, are very similar. The story of Hayk and Bel could be a mythologized version of Armenian war against the southern semitic tribes.
