CLANNAD is one of those rites of passage, I feel like. You don't know what pain (or joy...or laughter) really is unless you experience something like this story, and all its ups and downs. And I have CLANNAD to thank for getting me into visual novels as an entire entertainment medium, so while I shudder to think how much it made me cry, I'm also eternally grateful on many levels.

I remember the first time watching clannad after story i cried the river of tears during this scene, tomoya wishing that he never met nagisa wasn't just a bluff, ushio gave him the bad ending on purpose to test tomoya and see if he truly meant it but after regretting it, ushio died and decided to put tomoya in an alternative good ending where nagisa survived and they live happily ever after, it's really heart breaking
